Tympanal organ is the ear of crickets. It is located in the first pair of cricket's legs. The cuticular membrane there is thinner and it vibrates when driven by sound waves. The trachea in the leg is also very important in the whole system. Sound also enters through the tracheal opening in the body - spiracle - and hits the hearing organ also from "inside".
