Pacinian corpuscles - receptors for touch in the skin

Concentric membranes in the Pacinian corpuscles amplify the sense of touch and help that the receptor adapts to a prolonged stimulation (e.g. when we sit on a chair). Excitation travels through the nerve surounded by a myelin sheath.
